What this preview records
Museum Adventures creates a visit identifier and records adventure starts, steps, puzzle attempts, hints, completion, and reward activity. It also receives basic browser and device information, such as language and screen size. Your browser stores the adventure and progress so you can resume and play when a connection is unavailable. The fictional Whitmore demo does not ask for your email.
Optional contact details
Other adventures may ask for an email address and optional name, postal code, or interests at the end. You can skip this and still finish. A separate, unchecked box asks whether you want museum updates. Only people who check that box appear in the marketing contact list and its export. An email entered without that box may still be saved with the visit for the museum’s visitor records. Do not enter an email if you do not want it saved.
Founding partner inquiries
The homepage inquiry form asks for a museum or venue name, your name, work email, and an optional note about what you hope to learn. Netlify processes and stores the submission so we can receive it and reply about a possible pilot. We do not add inquiry contacts to a visitor marketing list. Contact us at wcharlesjohn@gmail.com to ask about or remove an inquiry. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule for these submissions.
How information is used and shared
Visit records help run the adventure, restore progress, show rewards, and report participation to the relevant museum. Authorized museum staff can see information for their museum; the platform operator can administer the service. Hosting and database providers process information to provide the service. We do not sell visitor information.
Choices and retention
You can skip optional contact fields and decline museum updates. You can clear locally saved adventure progress in your browser settings. Server records currently have no automatic deletion schedule. To ask about, correct, or delete information associated with your visit, email wcharlesjohn@gmail.com. Please include the museum and approximate visit date; do not send puzzle answers or sensitive details.
Children
Children should use the demo with a parent or guardian. Children under 13 should not enter contact details. Museum Adventures is not currently designed to collect children’s contact information.
